One lukewarm Texas night in December 2022, some friends and I were gathered around talking about our shared love of burgers, each of us speculating on how many we had ate over the past year (guys bein’ dudes). Unable to arrive at accurate summations, we decided that in 2023 we would all simply keep count.
The subsequent journey began as such, an innocuous documentary effort, but like anything else between guys goes - it instantly became a competition to eat the most. A mere handful of weeks into the new year we were off to the races. Read on to see how ridiculously far this bit went.

DOCUMENTATION
I fired out to an early lead and never looked back. In mid June, halfway through the year I'd already scarfed down 72 burgers. In other words, I had a ground beef patty with cheese between two buns as meal in 42% of days in the year.
Around this time I realized that I was either handedly the most determined to win this challenge, or maybe just the least concerned for my cardiovascular health. Regardless, I decided to dial the trash talk up a notch and gloat in a big way.
100 BURGERS
I chose to make a celebration out of my 100th burger of the year. Some early ideas for this consisted of chartering a limo to chauffeur me while I ate, and going to the fanciest restaurant in Austin wearing a hawaiian shirt and shorts to order a plain burger.
Instead, I decided the funniest approach would be to go to the cheapest burger spot in Austin - P. Terry's, and surprise the employees with an impromptu black tie gala in their dining room. So, I designed a handful of invitations, booked a violinist and did just that.

THE VICTORY
With the successful gala bit behind me, I knew I had to cross the finish line of the Burger Challenge with a similarly large bang. Everyone was enamored by the graphics I had made thus far, so I chose to take a similar approach to my victory announcement.
I wrote a simple script to quickly recap the challenge and then created arguably the most over produced videos I've ever made in support. Finally, I made shirts using the key art from the video and passed them out via a giveaway on my Instagram.
